This true crime book deserves every single good review it’s received! A masterful investigation about the Golden State Killer (just recently caught!), it’s captivating, thrilling, and insightful. It contained bone-chilling details about the crimes, but I never felt like McNamara was being salacious and the victim’s stories were always told with respect. It’s such a huge shame that McNamara died before the book came out and before the killer was caught. The true crime genre will be missing a huge talent without her. BTW, I had bad dreams every night I read this book before bed (and might have had to make sure all the doors in the house were locked!).
