“The Astonishing Color of After” Book Review

I’m a sucker for anything leaning towards magical realism, so this book stole my heart right away. After her mother kills herself, Leigh becomes convinced she sees her ghost in the form of a big, red bird that keeps sending her messages. Although there were sad moments in this, the story also has humor, mystery, and romance. I loved Pan’s usage of colors to describe situations, and the ending was completely satisfying. I hope even people who don’t usually read YA will check this one out!
